Women in Loyalty: Episode 9 — Sandra Sanderson, Sobeys
Kicking off 2022 in the Women in Loyalty™ series is Sandra Sanderson, a renowned North American CMO, and currently SVP of Marketing for Sobeys Inc., the second largest food retailer in Canada. In her current role, Sandra oversees the marketing portfolio strategies across all Sobeys Inc. banners to transform the way Sobeys connects with customers through marketing.

Outside of her role at Sobeys, Sandra enjoys being actively involved in the marketing community. She was on the Canadian Marketing Association’s Board of Directors for four years and was most recently Vice-Chair of the Board. She has also served as Chair of Retail Council of Canada’s Senior Retail Marketing Committee, and was on the Advisory Board of the Shopper Marketing Forum and Dx3. Sandra was named Marketer of the Year by the Canadian Marketing Association in 2020.

Sandra Sanderson is SVP, Marketing for Sobeys Inc., a leading Canadian grocery retailer and food distributor. Ms. Sanderson will oversee the marketing portfolio strategies across all Sobeys brands and banners to transform the way Sobeys connects with customers through marketing. Prior to joining Sobeys, Ms. Sanderson was Senior Vice President of Marketing at White House Black and the Chief Marketing and Quality Officer at Walmart Canada, where she led the marketing effort on the fresh food re-launch and was instrumental in launching Walmart Media Group. Ms. Sanderson was most recently Vice-Chair of the Canadian Marketing Association’s Board. She has also served as Chair of Retail Council of Canada’s Senior Retail Marketing Committee and was on the Advisory Board of the Shopper Marketing Forum and Dx3. She has also been recognized as Marketer of the Year by Strategy in 2012 and was a winner of Canadian Grocer’s Star Women Award in 2015.
Rachel MacQueen
SVP Marketing and Collector Experience @AIR MILES
As head of Marketing, Rewards and Customer Care, Rachel oversees the teams that design and deliver the end-to-end Collector experience for our 11 MM Collectors. This includes creating desire for the Brand and currency through Marketing efforts such as Brand campaigns, social and traditional media, promotions, direct-to Collector engagement, and in-store POP; Rewards and benefit offers like travel, merchandise, AIR MILES Cash, and events; as well as through the services provided to Collectors online, on the phone, and via social community management. Since joining the AIR MILES Reward Program in 2004, Rachel has assumed several roles integral to the organization’s brand development including leadership positions within Corporate Marketing and Communications, and the Knowledge Office. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University.
